About this tool
Enter your monthly gross salary and your age group. The calculator applies the 2025/26 income tax tables and the primary, secondary and tertiary rebates, and shows your yearly and monthly PAYE, UIF and net pay.
The tables used
Tax per year: 18 percent up to R237,100; then 26 percent up to R370,500; 31 percent up to R512,800; 36 percent up to R673,000; 39 percent up to R857,900; 41 percent up to R1,817,000; and 45 percent above. Rebates: R17,235 for everyone, plus R9,444 from age 65 and R3,145 more from age 75. UIF is 1 percent of pay up to R177.12 a month.
Not included
Medical tax credits, retirement fund deductions and other allowances are not included, so the result may be higher than your payslip.
Worked example
A salary of R40,000 a month: annual R480,000; tax about R111,300 before rebate; after the R17,235 rebate PAYE is about R7,840 a month; UIF R177.12; net pay about R31,980.
Tips for best results
Check every box before you rely on a result, because one wrong digit changes the whole answer. Use the exact figures from your payslip, bill, certificate or contract, and keep a note of the date you calculated. Rates, thresholds and rules change from time to time, so for tax, fees and legal matters treat the output as an estimate and confirm with the official source named on this page. You can run as many scenarios as you like; nothing is saved or sent, and refreshing the page clears the boxes.
