About this tool
Enter your last monthly wage (basic pay plus fixed allowances), your years of service and whether the contract ended by the employer or you resigned. The tool applies the Saudi Labor Law method: half a month's wage for each of the first five years and a full month for each year after that, reduced when an employee resigns with less than ten years of service.
How the award is worked out
For the first five years the award is half a month of wage for each year. For every year after the fifth it is one full month. Part years count in proportion.
Resignation
If you resign, you receive nothing for less than two years of service, one third of the award for two to under five years, two thirds for five to under ten years, and the full award from ten years. If the employer ends the contract the full award is paid.
Good to know
The wage is your last wage including fixed allowances such as housing and transport. Contracts, special cases and recent changes in the law can alter the amount, so confirm with your employer or the Ministry of Human Resources.
Worked example
A last wage of SAR 6,000 and 7 years of service, ended by the employer: first five years 0.5 × 5 × 6,000 = 15,000; the next two years 2 × 6,000 = 12,000; award SAR 27,000. If the worker resigned the award would be two thirds, SAR 18,000.
Tips for best results
Check every box before you rely on a result, because one wrong digit changes the whole answer. Use the exact figures from your payslip, bill, certificate or contract, and keep a note of the date you calculated. Rates, thresholds and rules change from time to time, so for tax, fees and legal matters treat the output as an estimate and confirm with the official source named on this page. You can run as many scenarios as you like; nothing is saved or sent, and refreshing the page clears the boxes.
