About this tool
Enter your yearly income, the tax your employer withheld and your deductions. The tool works out the tax on your taxable income with 2025-26 resident rates and the Medicare levy, and compares it with the tax withheld. Why do I get a refund?
Because tax withheld during the year was more than the tax on your final taxable income, often thanks to deductions.
