About this tool

Add a text-based PDF and get an HTML page with its paragraphs, optionally with a heading for each page. It is a quick way to publish a document on the web or to reuse its words in a page, and the HTML works on any device.

What you get

A single HTML file with UTF-8 text, a readable width and basic styles. Layout, columns and pictures are not reproduced; the tool keeps the words and paragraph breaks. For a scanned PDF, run OCR first so there is a text layer.

Tips

Check the result and edit it in any text editor. Use PDF to Markdown if you want headings and lists written in Markdown.

Worked example

A 12-page report becomes one HTML page with twelve sections, each with a Page N heading and its paragraphs.

Tips for best results

Work on a copy of your file and keep the original until you have checked the result. Open the output before you send it to a portal, an employer or an office, and look at every page. If a size limit applies, check how the receiving site measures it, because some count a kilobyte as 1000 bytes and others as 1024. All processing happens inside your browser tab on your own device, so large files depend on your device memory and may take a little longer on a phone.
