About this tool
Enter the room length and width in metres and the tile size in centimetres. The calculator gives the floor area and the number of tiles, with extra for cutting and breakage. Add tiles per box to get the boxes to buy.
Frequently asked questions
How much extra should I buy?
10 percent is usual for straight lay and 15 percent for diagonal or patterned floors.
Does it include grout?
No. The tile size you enter should include the grout line if you want it counted.
