About this tool

Choose one or more pictures and enlarge them 2, 3 or 4 times. The picture is grown in steps with high-quality smoothing and an adjustable sharpen filter. It is a quick way to get a bigger file for a form, a print or a banner when you have no larger original.

What to expect

Enlarging cannot add detail that was never captured, so a very small or blurry picture will not become sharp. The tool keeps edges clean and lines straight, which looks better than simple stretching for logos, screenshots and clear photos. For the best print result, start from the largest original you have.

Settings

Sharpen from 30 to 50 percent suits most photos. Use PNG to avoid further compression.

Worked example

A 600 × 400 logo enlarged 3× becomes 1800 × 1200 pixels, with the edges kept crisp by a light sharpen.

Tips for best results

Work on a copy of your file and keep the original until you have checked the result. Open the output before you send it to a portal, an employer or an office, and look at every page. If a size limit applies, check how the receiving site measures it, because some count a kilobyte as 1000 bytes and others as 1024. All processing happens inside your browser tab on your own device, so large files depend on your device memory and may take a little longer on a phone.
