About this tool
Enter your monthly basic salary plus dearness allowance, the number of years you will contribute, the interest rate and your expected yearly raise. The calculator shows your monthly share, the employer's contribution to EPF and EPS, and the projected balance with interest.
How contributions work
You pay 12 percent of basic pay plus DA. The employer also pays 12 percent: 8.33 percent of pay (on a wage ceiling of Rs 15,000) goes to the Employees' Pension Scheme and the rest to your EPF account. Interest is declared yearly by the EPFO and credited on the monthly running balance.
Reading the projection
The projection compounds monthly at the rate you enter and increases your basic pay once a year by the raise percentage. It is a planning tool: actual rates, withdrawals and employer limits will differ.
Worked example
Basic Rs 30,000, 10 years, interest 8.25 percent, raise 5 percent: your share is Rs 3,600 a month; the employer pays Rs 1,250 to EPS and Rs 2,350 to EPF; the projected balance is roughly Rs 14 lakh.
Tips for best results
Check every box before you rely on a result, because one wrong digit changes the whole answer. Use the exact figures from your payslip, bill, certificate or contract, and keep a note of the date you calculated. Rates, thresholds and rules change from time to time, so for tax, fees and legal matters treat the output as an estimate and confirm with the official source named on this page. You can run as many scenarios as you like; nothing is saved or sent, and refreshing the page clears the boxes.

Frequently asked questions
What interest rate should I use?
The EPFO declares a rate each year, recently about 8.25 percent. Use a lower rate for caution.
Is the EPS part in my EPF balance?
No. The 8.33 percent pension part goes to EPS, not to your provident fund balance.
Do I have to contribute 12 percent?
12 percent is standard. You may contribute more voluntarily through VPF.
Is the interest taxed?
Interest on contributions above the yearly limit is taxable. Check current rules.
