About this tool
List your appliances, one per line: name, watts, hours per day and quantity, for example Fan, 75, 10, 3. Enter the number of days and the price of one unit. You get the units (kWh) and the cost for each appliance and the total. Use it to see which appliances cost most.
Frequently asked questions
How is the bill worked out?
Units (kWh) = watts × hours × quantity × days ÷ 1000. The cost is the units multiplied by the rate.
Why does my bill differ?
Real bills have tiered rates, demand charges and VAT. Use the rate that matches your slab.
