About this tool
Enter your last monthly basic wage and your years of service. In Qatar an employee who completes at least one year of continuous service receives a gratuity of at least three weeks (21 days) of basic wage for each year of service. The tool shows the daily wage, the days earned and the total.
How it works
The daily wage is the monthly basic wage divided by 30. The gratuity is 21 days of that daily wage for every year of service, with part years counted in proportion. Service of less than one year earns no gratuity.
Good to know
The law sets a minimum. Your contract may promise more, so the amount you receive can be higher. The base is the basic wage, not allowances, unless your contract says otherwise.
Worked example
A basic wage of QAR 5,000 and 6 years of service: daily wage 166.67; 21 days × 6 years = 126 days; gratuity QAR 21,000.
Tips for best results
Check every box before you rely on a result, because one wrong digit changes the whole answer. Use the exact figures from your payslip, bill, certificate or contract, and keep a note of the date you calculated. Rates, thresholds and rules change from time to time, so for tax, fees and legal matters treat the output as an estimate and confirm with the official source named on this page. You can run as many scenarios as you like; nothing is saved or sent, and refreshing the page clears the boxes.
