About this tool
Enter your monthly gross salary and any yearly bonus. The calculator applies the salaried individual tax slabs of tax year 2026 and shows the yearly tax, the monthly tax and your take-home pay. Income above Rs 10 million also carries the 9 percent surcharge.
The slabs used
The first Rs 600,000 a year is taxed at 0 percent. Income from 600,001 to 1,200,000 is taxed at 1 percent; 1,200,001 to 2,200,000 at 11 percent on the excess; 2,200,001 to 3,200,000 at 23 percent; 3,200,001 to 4,100,000 at 30 percent; and above 4,100,000 at 35 percent.
What the estimate leaves out
It does not include provident fund, allowances with special treatment, tax credits for donations or education, or withholding on other income. Use it to see the size of your tax, not as a return. Slabs change with every federal budget, so check the Federal Board of Revenue for the current year.
Worked example
A salary of Rs 250,000 a month is Rs 3,000,000 a year. Tax = 1% of 600,000 (6,000) + 11% of 1,000,000 (110,000) + 23% of 800,000 (184,000) = Rs 300,000 a year, or Rs 25,000 a month.
Tips for best results
Check every box before you rely on a result, because one wrong digit changes the whole answer. Use the exact figures from your payslip, bill, certificate or contract, and keep a note of the date you calculated. Rates, thresholds and rules change from time to time, so for tax, fees and legal matters treat the output as an estimate and confirm with the official source named on this page. You can run as many scenarios as you like; nothing is saved or sent, and refreshing the page clears the boxes.
