About this tool
Enter your yearly deposit, the number of years and the interest rate. The calculator compounds yearly, assuming deposits are made at the start of each year, and shows the amount invested, the interest earned and the maturity value. The scheme lock-in is 15 years.
About PPF
The Public Provident Fund is a long term savings scheme backed by the Government of India, with a 15 year lock-in that can be extended in blocks of five years. The rate is set by the government every quarter.
Deposit limits
There is a yearly minimum and maximum deposit set by the scheme; check the current figures on the official site.
Estimate only
Interest is credited on the lowest balance between the 5th and the end of the month, so real figures differ slightly from this yearly estimate.
Tips for best results
Check every box before you rely on a result, because one wrong digit changes the whole answer. Use the exact figures from your payslip, bill, certificate or contract, and keep a note of the date you calculated. Rates, thresholds and rules change from time to time, so for tax, fees and legal matters treat the output as an estimate and confirm with the official source named on this page. You can run as many scenarios as you like; nothing is saved or sent, and refreshing the page clears the boxes.
