About this tool

A size limit of 30 KB is common for tiny signature and ID-photo fields. This page already has the target set, so you only add the picture and download the result. The tool searches for the highest JPEG quality that stays under 30 KB, and only when that is not enough does it reduce the pixel size a little. You can compare the result with the original before you save it. No upload, no account, no watermark.

How to get an image under 30 KB Add one or several pictures. The target is already 30 KB; start the job and the tool tries quality levels from high to low until the file fits. If the picture is a PNG with a transparent background, it is placed on white because JPEG has no transparency. Photos from modern phones are often 3–8 MB, so reaching 30 KB usually costs little visible quality.

Keeping the picture clear Before you compress, crop the picture to what the form needs: a tight crop keeps more detail at the same file size. Use a plain light background and good light, because noise and shadows make files larger. For text such as a signature, write with a dark pen on white paper and photograph it straight on.

Different portals, same trick Some forms measure KB as 1000 bytes and some as 1024. If a portal still says the file is too large, choose the next smaller target. Check also whether it asks for exact pixel dimensions; the resize pages here set both size and weight.

Privacy Your photo, signature or ID is processed in the browser tab and is not sent to us or anyone else, which is exactly what you want for identity pictures.

Tips for best results

Work on a copy of your file and keep the original until you have checked the result. Open the output before you send it to a portal, an employer or an office, and look at every page. If a size limit applies, check how the receiving site measures it, because some count a kilobyte as 1000 bytes and others as 1024. All processing happens inside your browser tab on your own device, so large files depend on your device memory and may take a little longer on a phone.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a picture under 30 KB?

Add the picture and start. The tool lowers JPEG quality, and the resolution only if needed, until the file is below 30 KB.

Will the picture look worse?

Slightly, since lossy compression removes detail. At a sensible target the change is hard to see. You can compare before saving.

Which formats can I add?

JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC from iPhones. The result is a JPG so that the size target can be met.

Is the image uploaded anywhere?

No. It is processed locally in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.

The portal still rejects my file. Why?

Some sites count KB as 1000 bytes, or also check pixel size or format. Try the next smaller size and check the required dimensions.

Can I compress many pictures at once?

Yes, add several and download them together.
