About this tool

Enter your CGPA and pick the scale of your institution. The tool multiplies by 100 divided by the scale, so a 4.0 scale uses 25 and a 5.0 scale uses 20. Some universities and employers publish their own multiplier; type it in the last box to use that instead.

There is no single official formula

CGPA is calculated from grade points, not from marks, so a percentage is always an estimate. Many institutions accept a simple multiplier and publish it in their rules. If a form asks for a percentage, use the multiplier from your university or the employer.

Examples

On a 4.0 scale a CGPA of 3.50 gives 87.5 percent with multiplier 25. On a 5.0 scale a GPA of 4.50 gives 90 percent with multiplier 20.

When to check with your institution

For foreign applications, scholarships and some job portals, ask for an official equivalence letter. This calculator is for quick planning.

Tips for best results

Check every box before you rely on a result, because one wrong digit changes the whole answer. Use the exact figures from your payslip, bill, certificate or contract, and keep a note of the date you calculated. Rates, thresholds and rules change from time to time, so for tax, fees and legal matters treat the output as an estimate and confirm with the official source named on this page. You can run as many scenarios as you like; nothing is saved or sent, and refreshing the page clears the boxes.
