About this tool

The countdown shows the days left until the next 25 December. Pick another date, such as a birthday or holiday, to count down to that day instead. The result is worked out in your browser from today's date.

What it shows

Days until the date, the same in weeks, hours and the number of sleeps. Work days are an estimate of Monday to Friday days left.

Use it for

Christmas planning, birthdays, weddings, holidays, exams and deadlines. Plan gifts, cards and posting dates ahead, since last posting dates fall in the first half of December.

Tip

Set a date other than Christmas to turn it into a general countdown.

Plan ahead

Order gifts before the last posting dates, write cards by early December and plan a menu in advance. Counting working days helps you see how much time is really left.
