About this tool

Add a scanned PDF whose pages are slightly tilted and the tool finds the angle of the text lines on each page and rotates the page to make it straight. The result is a new PDF made of the straightened pages. Everything runs on your device.

Why scans are crooked

A page that is fed at a small angle or placed unevenly on a flatbed comes out tilted. Straight text is easier to read, looks professional and gives better results when you run OCR afterwards.

How it works

Each page is drawn as a picture, the dark text pixels are analysed for the angle that makes the text lines most horizontal, and the page is rotated by that angle on a white background. Angles up to ten degrees are corrected.

Good to know

The output pages are pictures, so selectable text is not kept. Run OCR PDF on the result if you need searchable text. Pages with very little text, photos or handwriting may be left almost unchanged because there is no clear line direction.

Privacy

The PDF never leaves your browser.
