About this tool
Enter a year to list the ten federal statutory holidays, including Victoria Day, Canada Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Provinces add their own days such as Family Day and Civic Holiday.
Federal holidays
New Year's Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day (the Monday before 25 May), Canada Day, Labour Day, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day are the federal statutory holidays.
Provincial days
Provinces differ. Family Day is in February in many provinces, Civic Holiday in August, and Easter Monday applies to some federal employees. Quebec has St-Jean-Baptiste on 24 June.
Note
If a holiday falls on a weekend, employers usually give the following Monday or another day. Check provincial employment standards.
