About this tool
Enter your current balance, how much you add each year, the years and the expected return. The calculator shows what you put in, the growth and the final value. Qualified Roth withdrawals are free of federal tax. Figures are for the 2026 tax year and can change. A guide only, check irs.gov or a tax professional.
Why Roth
You pay tax on the money before you contribute, but qualified withdrawals in retirement, including all growth, are free of federal income tax. The tool shows a rough 15 percent tax saved on the growth as a guide.
Limits
The 2026 contribution limit is $7,500, or $8,600 at 50 or older, and it phases out at higher incomes. You must have earned income. Withdrawals of earnings are tax free after age 59½ and five years.
Example
$7,500 a year for 30 years at 7 percent grows to about $708,000, from $225,000 contributed.
