About this tool
Enter your last drawn monthly basic plus dearness allowance and your years and months of service. The tool uses the formula last salary × 15 ÷ 26 × completed years, rounding a part year of six months or more up to a full year.
The formula
Gratuity = (last drawn salary × 15 ÷ 26) × years of service. The 15 is days of wages for each year and 26 is the working days in a month.
Eligibility
Gratuity is generally payable after five years of continuous service, with exceptions such as death or disability. There is a statutory ceiling; check the latest limit.
Not legal advice
Employers with their own policy may pay more than the statutory minimum.
