About this tool
Choose a picture and set how many characters wide the art should be. Pick a character set, from detailed to simple blocks, and invert it for light text on a dark background. Copy the result or download it as a text file. Portraits and logos with strong contrast work best.
When to use it
Turn a picture into text characters for fun and signatures.
Tips
Use a high contrast picture. Use a fixed width font.
Privacy
Everything runs in your browser, so your data is not uploaded or stored.
Tips
Use a wide picture with strong contrast and choose a character set with more symbols for finer detail. View the result in a monospaced font so lines line up.

Domande frequenti
Which pictures work best?
Pictures with a clear subject and strong contrast, such as portraits and logos.
Why does it look wrong when pasted?
Use a monospaced font such as Courier or Consolas so each character has the same width.
Which characters are used?
A set you can choose.
Can I copy the text?
Yes.
Why does it look stretched?
Characters are taller than they are wide, so the tool adjusts, but a monospace font is needed.
