Enter a year from 1583. The tool calculates Western Easter Sunday with the standard computus, and also shows Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Pentecost and Orthodox Easter.

How Easter is set

Western Easter falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after 21 March, so it can fall between 22 March and 25 April. Orthodox churches use the Julian calendar for the same rule, which puts their Easter one to five weeks later in most years.

Related dates

Good Friday is two days before Easter, Easter Monday the day after, Ash Wednesday 46 days before, Ascension Day 39 days after and Pentecost 49 days after.

In 2027 Western Easter is on 28 March and Orthodox Easter on 2 May.
