The formula

cm = (feet × 12 + inches) × 2.54. Feet = cm ÷ 30.48, with the remainder in inches.

Common heights

5 ft 0 in is 152.4 cm, 5 ft 6 in is 167.6 cm, 5 ft 9 in is 175.3 cm, 6 ft 0 in is 182.9 cm and 6 ft 3 in is 190.5 cm.

Why use it
