About this tool
Different countries quote fuel economy in different ways. Enter a value and its unit to see all the others. Higher km/l and mpg are better, but lower L/100km is better, which is a common source of confusion.

Why are US and UK gallons different?
The UK (imperial) gallon is about 4.546 litres and the US gallon is about 3.785 litres.
Which is better, 8 L/100km or 12 km/l?
8 L/100km equals 12.5 km/l, so it is slightly better.
