About this tool
Work out VAT for UK and EU prices or sales tax for US states. Choose whether your price already includes tax or not, type the rate (or tap a preset such as UK 20 percent), and see the net amount, the tax and the total at once. The common UK VAT rates are 20 percent standard and 5 percent reduced, and US sales tax differs by state and city.
When to use it
Add VAT to a net price or take it out of a gross price at the standard, reduced or zero rate.
Tips
Check the right rate for your goods. Keep the VAT amount separate on invoices for returns.

Pick “Price includes tax”, enter the price and the rate. For 20 percent VAT, a price of 120 has 100 net and 20 tax.
