About this tool

Set the tempo with the slider or use Tap and tap the beat yourself. Choose how many beats are in a bar; the first beat has a higher click. The tool uses precise timing from the browser audio so the beat stays steady. Useful for music practice, singing and exercise.

When to use it

A simple metronome with tap tempo for practice.

Start slowly and increase the tempo gradually.

Everything runs in your browser, so your data is not uploaded or stored.

Practice tips

Start slowly, at a speed where you can play cleanly, and increase by 5 bpm at a time. Typical tempos are 60 to 80 for slow songs, 100 to 120 for moderate and 140 and above for fast ones.
