About this tool
Enter your salary, your contribution rate, the employer rate, your balance, the years and the expected return. The tool shows your yearly contributions, the total and the projected balance. Salary is held constant, so the result is in today's terms before inflation.
How KiwiSaver works
You put in 3, 4, 6, 8 or 10 percent of gross pay and your employer adds at least 3 percent, rising to 3.5 percent from April 2026 and 4 percent from April 2028. The government also adds a small contribution each year, which is not included here.
Example
On $75,000 at 3 percent with a 3.5 percent employer rate, $10,000 start, 5 percent for 30 years grows to around $0.55 million.
Tips
Fund choice matters over 30 years. Check fees and the risk of the fund, and use the first-home withdrawal rules if you plan to buy.

常见问题
What do employers pay?
At least 3 percent of gross pay, rising to 3.5 percent in April 2026 and 4 percent in April 2028.
Is there a government contribution?
Yes, but it has been reduced. It is not included in the tool.
When can I withdraw?
At age 65, or earlier for a first home, serious illness or financial hardship.
Are results in today's money?
The salary is held constant and the return is nominal, so inflation will reduce what the final amount buys.
