About this tool
Enter a volume in litres or US gallons. The result shows US gallons, UK (imperial) gallons and US pints. A US gallon is 3.785 litres and a UK gallon is 4.546 litres, so the two give different answers.
Two kinds of gallon
The US gallon is 3.785411784 litres. The UK imperial gallon is 4.54609 litres, about 20 percent larger. This is why a car's mpg figure is different in the UK and US for the same fuel use.

50 litres is 13.2 US gallons or 11.0 UK gallons. 10 US gallons is 37.9 litres.
