About this tool

Add an ODT (OpenDocument Text) file and get its plain text, ready to copy or save as a TXT file. It is handy when you only need the words, for example to paste them into an email, a form or another editor. Nothing is uploaded.

How to get text from ODT

Add the file and press the button. The text appears in the box and can be copied or downloaded as a .txt file with UTF-8 encoding, so Bangla and other scripts are kept.

What you get

Paragraphs and headings become plain lines separated by blank lines. Tables become tab-separated rows, which paste well into a spreadsheet.

Privacy

The file never leaves your device. This is useful for private letters, contracts and notes.

Tips för bästa resultat

Arbeta med en kopia av din fil och behåll originalet tills du har kontrollerat resultatet. Innan du skickar det till en portal, arbetsgivare eller myndighet, öppna resultatet och titta på varje sida. Om det finns en storleksgräns, kontrollera hur mottagarens webbplats mäter den: vissa räknar ett kilobyte som 1000 byte, andra som 1024. All bearbetning sker i webbläsarfliken på din egen enhet, så stora filer beror på enhetens minne och kan ta lite längre tid på en telefon.
