About this tool
Enter how many days you work each week. Workers in the UK are entitled to at least 5.6 weeks of paid leave a year, capped at 28 days. For irregular hours, add the hours you worked in the year to see leave of 12.07 percent. Rates and thresholds are for the 2026-27 tax year and can change. A guide only, check gov.uk for the official figures.
How it is worked out
The law gives 5.6 weeks of paid holiday. A full-timer working five days gets 28 days, which may include bank holidays if your contract says so. A part-timer's days are scaled: three days a week gives 16.8 days.
Irregular hours and zero hours
If your hours change each week, 12.07 percent of the hours you work is the usual way to work it out. Employers may give more than the minimum in your contract.
Tips
Starters and leavers get a proportion for part of a year. Holiday pay should reflect your normal pay, including regular overtime.
