About this tool
Enter a base number and an exponent to get the power, such as 2 to the power 10 is 1,024. You also see the square, cube, square root, cube root, any root you choose, the base-10 logarithm and the natural logarithm.
When to use it

Tips
Negative bases with fractional powers have no real result.

Rules to remember
A number to the power 0 is 1, a negative power is the reciprocal, and a power of one half is a square root. Roots of negative numbers are not real.
