About this tool

Enter your monthly wage and your years of service. The calculator finds the number of days of severance in the legal scale, from 30 days to 400 days, and the amount.

The scale

Under the Labor Protection Act, severance applies when an employer ends employment for a reason other than misconduct: 120 days to under 1 year 30 days; 1 to under 3 years 90 days; 3 to under 6 years 180 days; 6 to under 10 years 240 days; 10 to under 20 years 300 days; 20 years or more 400 days of the final wage.

Daily wage

The tool divides the monthly wage by 30 to get the daily wage; for workers paid by the day or by piece, use the rate on the last day.

Not included

Notice pay in lieu, unused leave and any contractual extras. Severance is not due if the employee is dismissed for serious misconduct, or if a fixed-term contract ends.

Worked example

A monthly wage of ฿30,000 and 7 years of service falls in the 240-day band. The daily wage is ฿1,000, so severance is ฿240,000.

Tips for best results

Check every box before you rely on a result, because one wrong digit changes the whole answer. Use the exact figures from your payslip, bill, certificate or contract, and keep a note of the date you calculated. Rates, thresholds and rules change from time to time, so for tax, fees and legal matters treat the output as an estimate and confirm with the official source named on this page. You can run as many scenarios as you like; nothing is saved or sent, and refreshing the page clears the boxes.
