Reliefs

Chargeable income is income after reliefs such as earned income relief, CPF relief, spouse and child relief, course fees and the supplementary retirement scheme. Enter their total.

Not included

Tax rebates, overseas income, non-resident rates (flat 15% for employment income or a progressive rate, whichever is higher) and tax on investments are not modeled.

Worked example

Income of S$90,000 with S$9,000 of reliefs gives chargeable income of S$81,000 and tax of S$3,465, an effective rate of 3.85% of income, or S$288.75 a month.

Tips for best results

Check every box before you rely on a result, because one wrong digit changes the whole answer. Use the exact figures from your payslip, bill, certificate or contract, and keep a note of the date you calculated. Rates, thresholds and rules change from time to time, so for tax, fees and legal matters treat the output as an estimate and confirm with the official source named on this page. You can run as many scenarios as you like; nothing is saved or sent, and refreshing the page clears the boxes.
