How to Record Your Screen in the Browser With Sound (Free, No Install)

A short screen recording explains a bug, teaches a step or saves a presentation far better than a long message. Modern browsers can capture the screen without extra software.

Quick answer

Choose the whole screen, one window or one tab. Add your microphone or the computer's sound, then press record. Pause and resume as needed. The recording is made on your device.

Steps

  1. Open the tool and press Start recording.
  2. In the browser prompt, choose what to share: screen, window or tab.
  3. Tick Share audio if you want system or tab sound.
  4. Enable the microphone to add your voice.
  5. Record, press stop and download the video.

What to choose

  • Tab: best quality and can include the tab's sound.
  • Window: hides your other apps and notifications.
  • Whole screen: useful for demonstrations across apps.

For a clear recording

  • Close personal tabs and mute notifications.
  • Use a headset microphone to avoid echo.
  • Set a clean desktop and a large font size.
  • Do a 10-second test before the real take.
  • Speak slowly and pause between steps.

Limits

  • System sound capture depends on the browser and operating system (best in Chrome and Edge on desktop).
  • Phones may not support screen capture in the browser.
  • Very long recordings produce big files; save and split them.
