How to Print a Large Poster on a Normal Printer Using A4 or Letter Pages
Split a picture into overlapping A4 or Letter pages with corner marks and sheet numbers, then print and glue them into a wall poster.

A poster print costs far more than a few sheets of paper. With a home or office printer you can tile a large picture across several pages and assemble it on the wall.
Quick answer
Choose a picture and the poster size (number of pages across and down). You get one PDF with each page numbered, overlap for gluing and corner marks for alignment.
Planning
| Layout | Final size on A4 |
|---|---|
| 2 × 2 | about 40 × 59 cm |
| 3 × 3 | about 60 × 89 cm |
| 4 × 4 | about 80 × 119 cm |
Use a picture with enough pixels: for 3 × 3 at A4 you want roughly 2,400 × 3,500 px or more for sharp prints.
Steps
- Open the tool and choose the picture.
- Set pages across and down, paper size and orientation.
- Check the preview with the grid lines.
- Download the PDF and print at 100 percent (actual size).
- Trim the margins on the sheets that overlap.
- Glue or tape the sheets from the back, using the corner marks.
Assembly tips
- Print a test page first to check the margins your printer leaves.
- Trim the right and bottom edges of each page (or the left and top) consistently.
- Use a long ruler or a cutting mat for clean edges.
- Work on a large flat table and start from the top-left sheet.
- Mount on a board with spray adhesive, or just use double-sided tape.
