How to Check Photo and Signature Size Before Uploading to a Job or Exam Form
Compare your file's width, height and KB with the limits of a job or exam portal so you do not lose an upload attempt.

Application portals are strict. A photo of 120 KB when the limit is 100 KB is rejected, and some portals lock a field after a few failed tries. Checking your file first saves time.
Quick answer
Enter the size the form asks for (width, height and KB range) and your file. The checker tells you at once whether the width, the height and the file weight match.
Typical limits
| Item | Dimensions | File size |
|---|---|---|
| Passport photo | 300 × 300 px or 35 × 45 mm | 20 to 100 KB |
| Signature | 140 × 60 px | 10 to 50 KB |
| Thumb impression | 240 × 240 px | 20 to 50 KB |
Each form is different; always use the numbers in the instructions.
Find your file's size
- Windows: right-click the file, choose Properties, read size and dimensions on the Details tab.
- Mac: Get Info shows size and dimensions.
- Phone: the gallery's "details" or "info" screen shows both.
Steps
- Open the tool and enter the required limits.
- Choose your file or type its values.
- Read the pass or fail for width, height and KB.
If it fails
- Use Resize and Compress to set exact pixels and a maximum KB.
- Use the Passport Photo tool for exact photo sizes with a white background.
- Use the Signature Cleaner to remove the paper background from a signature photo.
Tips
- Keep an original copy before compressing.
- Use JPG unless the form asks for another type.
- A plain white background and even light prevent rejection.
- Check the file name rules; some portals reject spaces or long names.
