How to Change the Page Size of a PDF to A4, US Letter, Legal, A5 or A3
Rescale every page to a new paper size, centred and in the right shape, so it prints correctly or fits a form's requirement.

Documents made in the US use Letter size, most of the world uses A4. A PDF in one size printed on the other can be cut off or surrounded by big margins. A form portal may also demand a specific size.
Quick answer
Choose the new paper size and orientation (or automatic). Each page is scaled to fit and centred on the new paper.
Sizes compared
| Size | Millimetres | Inches |
|---|---|---|
| A3 | 297 × 420 | 11.7 × 16.5 |
| A4 | 210 × 297 | 8.3 × 11.7 |
| A5 | 148 × 210 | 5.8 × 8.3 |
| US Letter | 216 × 279 | 8.5 × 11 |
| Legal | 216 × 356 | 8.5 × 14 |
Steps
- Open the tool and add the PDF.
- Choose the new size and orientation.
- Convert and download.
What to expect
- Pages are scaled proportionally, so nothing is stretched.
- If the shape differs (Letter to A4), small bars of white appear at the top and bottom or sides.
- Text stays selectable because pages are placed, not turned into pictures.
Tips
- For printing, check "actual size" in the print dialog.
- If a small A5 booklet is needed from A4 sheets, use PDF Booklet Maker.
- Resize before compressing and signing to keep the layout.
- For a mix of sizes in one file, convert everything to a single size first.
