About this tool
Turn a PDF's text into a Markdown file with headings (#), lists, bold and italic text and tables. Handy for documentation, notes or blog posts; paste it straight into GitHub, Notion or Obsidian. Turn on the option if you want page breaks marked. To save the pictures, use the "Extract Images from PDF" tool.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on a scanned PDF?
No. A scanned PDF holds only pictures and no text. Use the "OCR PDF" tool first.
How are headings found?
Text in a larger font is taken as a heading. A complex layout can hide some headings, so check the result.
