About this tool
Find out what a photo says about itself: camera make and model, lens, date taken, exposure, aperture, ISO and, if present, the GPS position where it was taken. A photo shared with GPS data can show where you live, so check before you post. To remove this data use our Remove EXIF tool. The file is read on your device and not uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my photo show a location?
Phones add GPS to photos by default. Remove it before sharing if you do not want people to know the place.
Does it work with PNG?
No. It reads JPG photos, which is where cameras store this data.
